As clients grow beyond early stage, they eventually need to bring operational functions in-house and formalize departments.  Managing overhead costs through this transition phase requires scaling thoughtfully.  Through a collaborative process, we identify the positions and responsibilities that make economic sense to staff up.  We then develop a recruiting plan and work with a network of top recruiters to implement it. Our goal is to make the transition smooth and seamless both internally and externally.  


Transitioning Service

Phase 1

  • Review with client time spent by GOOD MOOD on services provided

  • Determine which services make economic sense to transition in-house based on hours spent and future needs

  • Develop organizational chart that includes newly added departments with positions and reporting structure

  • Identify key individuals on client's side who will participate in the hiring process  

Phase 2

  • Create detailed position descriptions documenting responsibilities and requirements

  • Determine appropriate compensation budgets for each position

  • Develop and document recruiting procedures to guide applicant vetting process

  • Identify appropriate recruiting channels for the search (on-line job boards, recruiters, campuses, etc...)

  • Publish openings to recruiting channels

Phase 3

  • Vet applications and short list for phone screen (with or without client as requested)
  • GOOD MOOD conducts phone screen of shortlisted applicants and identifies candidates for in-person interviews*
  • GOOD MOOD conducts in-person interviews and identifies candidates to move forward
  • Client conducts in-person interviews (one or more rounds as needed)
  • Top candidates identified and ranked
  • Offer finalized and extended to candidate(s) (potential iterative process if negotiated)

Phase 4

  • On-boarding of new employees
  • GOOD MOOD to document transition items and transfer responsibilities to employees on a preset schedule appropriate to each position
  • For an agreed upon period of time, GOOD MOOD will be available to answer questions and help in the transition
